Like I said before, DU’s a good school. But, I think, sometimes, they’re lacking. A friend of mine enrolled in their Masters in Social Work program and hated it so much that she withdrew a couple months in. She described it as being over-run by trust fund babies. I dunno…I sorta find any institution that helped educate Condaleeza Rice a bit suspect.

I actually met someone online once–this was probably in 2002/3–who was in the PhD in Lit program there. He was some sort of boy genius who was obsessed with academia…a very boring man with a prepubescent voice. He didn’t seem to have any sort of life beyond academics.

I’m not sure it would have been a good experience for you. I think you’re way bigger than academia, and perhaps, that was evident in your application. In any case, DU’s a tiny pond. You’re meant for way bigger things.
